Create artwork inspired by the vibrant colors and shapes of flowers that bloom during spring time! This program is in-person and takes place at Mt. Lebanon Public Library. All materials are provided. Free.

Pre-K students and a grown up will create dynamic art based on the week’s theme. Play-based projects and sensory activities will include multiple steps and focus on experimentation as well as language and fine motor development. This class is in-person and takes place at Artsmiths of Pittsburgh 329 E. Main Street, Carnegie, PA.

Story Saturdays: When Clay Sings

Join us in the Ailsa Mellon Bruce Decorative Arts and Design galleries for an in-person story time of When Clay Sings by Byrd Baylor and illustrated by Tom Bhati with curatorial assistant Alyssa Velazquez. The reading is followed by an art-making activity for children 12 and under. This reading is made possible by Dial Books. Free with Admission.

Making with Artsmiths: Nests are Noisy

Join Jena Scheib of the Artsmiths of Pittsburgh as we engineer a nest inspired by real bird architects that will cradle your watercolor speckled eggs. We’ll read “Nests are Noisy” by Diana Hutts Aston to spark ideas for our colorful artworks. This program is funded by a Gismondi VITAL grant. All materials are provided and the program is free. This program takes place in-person at Andrew Carnegie Free Library, 300 Beechwood Ave, Carnegie PA.

Acrylic Painting
@ Mt. Lebanon Public Library

4 Tuesdays, May 3 – May 24 | 1pm – 3pm

Explore color mixing, painting mediums, building surface and capturing light with acrylic paint. Practice on several different painting surfaces and learn all about the tools and materials in this introductory course. Gain inspiration from famous works throughout history and create works all your own. May 3, 10, 17 and 24 (plan to attend all sessions). Registration required. Register for all four sessions below. All supplies provided. $5 suggested donation.  This program takes place in-person at Mt. Lebanon Public Library.
